Passing The Buck

"The man said, 'The woman you put here with me — she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.'" ~ Genesis 3:12

Like Adam after the fall, often times, when we get in trouble, we look to others to point the finger and pass the blame.

At work, it's our boss's fault.

At home, it's our husband or wife's fault.

At church, it's the pastor, deacon, or usher's fault.

It's time we start taking responsibility for our own actions and accept the consequences thereof. God is looking for servants who are accountable for their actions.

Peace In The Midst of the Storm

Often times, we all lead hectic, crazy lives.

Between work and family demands, our days are full of rushing, worrying, and juggling.

But despite the craziness that we experience, God has promised to grant us peace in the midst of our storms.

All we have to do is recognize His awesome power and call on His name.

God bless,
J.W.

"Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, 'Lord, save us! We're going to drown!' He replied, 'You of little faith, why are you so afraid?' Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm." ~ Matthew 8:24-26

Wait

"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." ~ Isaiah 40:31

Okay, so, who enjoys waiting?

...Anyone?

...Anyone?

Yup, that's right! No one enjoys waiting, but, unfortunately, it's a necessary part of the process.

See, without waiting, we'd all become spoiled, immature brats who'd feel like we no longer needed God. So... God purposely makes us wait, so that we might appreciate Him and His many blessings.

To help you in your process of waiting, I just wanted to share this poem with you (click here). I hope it blesses you as much as it did me.

God bless,
J.W.

Tomorrow

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." ~ Matthew 6:34

As an innate planner, I often worry about the future.

"What will I do?"

"How will I react?"

"What if things don't go right?"

As a result, I am often consume with "what ifs" and "could be's."

But God tells us not to do that.

He tells us not to worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself.

You see, seize the day should not just be a cliche we say. As Christians, it ought to be a lifestyle we live, for in the end, all we have is the present.

So, TODAY, focus on being the best you that you can be, and let God worry about tomorrow.

God bless,

Pay It Forward

"To whom much is given, from him much will be required." ~ Luke 12:48

As Christians, our job is to pour out that which God pours in us. In short, we are blessed to be a blessing!

So... since God loves us unconditionally, we are called to love others unconditionally. Since God forgave us, we are called to forgive others. Since God grants us peace, we should peaceful unto others. And if God gives us wealth, we ought to share our wealth with others.

With so much talk in the news about President Obama's health care plan, I think we, as Americans, have forgotten this principle. Everyone deserves the same rights and privileges as everyone else, for God is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11). Just as He's blessed us, He could have easily blessed someone else who is less fortunate than us.

So, be a blessing to someone today. Instill in them as God instills in you.

God bless,
J.W.
