Walking In Boldness
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." ~ 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
There will undoubtedly be times in life when you will feel pressure (internal or otherwise) to cower, comply, or avoid conflict. Most of us are conflict averse. Moreover, many of us have an underlying, hidden but often paralyzing fear of success, where we choose to play it safe rather than step out on faith and walk in the authority that God has given us.
None of that is God.
2 Timothy 1:7 says that God did not give us a spirit of FEAR, but of POWER. Romans 8:37 calls us more than conquerors. Philippians 4:13 confirms that we can do all things through Christ.
To walk with God, we will have to learn to walk in boldness.
God has things planned for you. He wants you to succeed. But accomplishing His purpose for you will require you to walk in a different spirit (Numbers 14:24).
Walk in boldness today.
God bless,

It's Not About You!

"Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you." ~ Romans 12:3
As innately selfish creatures, most of us think life is all about us - our problems, our greatness, our accomplishments, our ups ad downs, our sickness, our health.
But God paints a different picture of what life is supposed to be. He urges us not to think more highly of ourselves than we ought.
Make no mistake - we are more than conquerors in Christ (Romans 8:37). God has called us to be a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). We are sons and daughters of the King (Galatians 3:26).
But true greatness is found in humility (Matthew 23:12), in service to others (Mark 10:43-44), and in love (John 15:13).
It's not about you!
God bless,
J.W.

More Than Conquerors

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." ~ Romans 8:37-39
Make no mistake - Satan is real.
The Bible urges us to "be self-controlled and alert" because "your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he might devour" (1 Peter 5:8) It also says, however, that we are MORE than conquerors in Christ.
So, while you stay alert to the devil's schemes, know that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) as long as God is on your side.
God bless,

Which Side Are You On?

For Ephesians 6:10-20 reads:
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
As Paul so boldly professes, when you become a Christian, you are entering a war. The Bible says that there is a spiritual war taking place that will end when Christ returns. When you choose to give your life to Christ, you become an ambassador, a soldier, for God in His war against the devil.
So, who’s side are you on? Have you even picked a side yet?
If not, choose the side that has guaranteed you victory.
God bless,
J.W.
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ~ Romans 8:37-39
