Train Up A Child (Part 8)
"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever." ~ 1 Corinthians 9:24-25
Ultimately, God is not training us just to train us. He trains us to get results (1 Corinthians 9:24).
Just like a runner trains to win the grand prize, we ought to train ourselves in such a way as to win our prize (Philippians 3:14).
What is that prize? Very simply, it's the John 10:10 life. It's the Ephesians 3:20 experience. The Luke 6:38 principle.
God wants to give us His very best. But in order to get His best, we have to give ours (Mark 8:34-36).
What are you giving Him today?
God bless,
J.W.

What Prize Are You After?

"Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown." ~ 1 Corinthians 9:24-25
What prize are you after?
Are you after the things of this world - things that are temporal, tangible, and fleeting? Or are you after the things of God - things that are invisible, intangible, and eternal?
There's a prize for everyone. But one leads to death, while the other leads to eternal life.
Which one will you choose today?
God bless,
J.W.
